Dear Subscriber,

Rehabilitation can come in many forms. Whether you are caring for someone with heart disease or another chronic condition, or helping someone recover from an acute traumatic injury or stroke, the goal of rehabilitation remains the same: a return to previous functioning or as close as one can come to regaining strength and relearning skills.

In general, acute rehabilitation takes place in an inpatient setting and subacute rehabilitation takes place in skilled nursing facilities or in community or home-based programs. Become familiar with rehabilitation strategies for various disorders by exploring the articles in NursingCenter's "More Resources." Also, challenge yourself with another crossword puzzle, Let's get physical.
