 In
2008, one of the reimbursement changes mandated by the Centers
for Medicare and Medicaid Services was that Medicare will
no longer cover the cost of treating catheter-associated urinary
tract infections. How have policies and practices changed
where you work? Have they been effective?
Remember the following
key elements of nursing care when it comes to urinary catheters:

recent study by the Emergency
Nurses Association (ENA) has revealed some disheartening results.
3,465 ENA members were surveyed regarding violence in the workplace. Approximately
25% of respondents reported experiencing physical violence more than 20
times in the past 3 years, and almost 20% reported experiencing verbal

the following new drug:
Livalo (pitavastatin) -
