Follow these strategies to keep
your patients and their family members educated:
1. Find out what works by asking how he learns best.
2. Let your patient play with equipment, tools, or anything else
that he'll be using to manage his health.
3. Encourage preplanning by having him gather supplies and think
about how he'll be organized at home.
4. Offer gentle encouragement.
5. Don't save the day! When something goes wrong, give him time
to problem-solve.

Physician Infusion Services: Coding & Documentation
Ensure Proper Payment, Support Your Claims
The coding and documentation rules for outpatient infusion services do apply in the clinic setting. Yet, many physician groups aren’t even aware of their compliance obligations. Consequently, they may not be appropriately paid for services rendered, or they risk losing reimbursement through payer audits. It’s time to bring your facility into full compliance. Start by making sure you know and understand the rules. Our audio seminar on June 16 will walk you through coding and documentation basics, equipping you to realize the correct payment that stands up to an audit.
