Dear
Colleague,
Happy National Nurses Week! Nurses: Caring Today for a Healthier Tomorrow, the theme for this year, reminds me of the importance of preventive care. As nurses, we are instrumental in providing this care and educating patients about how to keep themselves and their loved ones healthy. The collection of articles in More Resources will help you with this task.
Along those same lines, we must also take care of ourselves. We know the importance of good nutrition, exercise, and lowering stress levels. While I can’t provide you with a healthy meal or take a walk with you from this side of my computer, I can help you lower your stress level with some fun - at least I hope I can! We’ve got a week of puzzles and quizzes planned here at
NursingCenter and each day one of you will win open access to NursingCenter.com for one full year. That’s right…access to our journals, CEs, Focus On collections, everything! Also, 5 lucky winners each day will win a Free CE!
Get started now with our first puzzle, Prevention is key. In this wordsearch puzzle, the unused letters spell out a secret message. Email [email protected] with your solution in the subject line and you'll have a chance to win! Deadline for submissions is 10 EDT. Visit our National Nurses Week page for a new challenge and a chance to win every day!
Have a great week!
Lisa Bonsall, MSN, RN, CRNP

RAC Audit Series: Case Management & Documentation Essentials
Steps to help you mitigate the threats to your hospital
Which hospitals are at the greatest risk for exposure under the Medicare Recovery Audit Contractor (RAC) program? It's frequently the organizations that lack effective case management oversight and/or high-quality supporting documentation. From this series of webcast seminars, you'll gain a clearer understanding of the RAC program and what it means for your hospital, along with recommendations for compliant practices in three key areas: access management; discharge planning and care coordination; and clinical documentation improvement.
