Dear Colleague,

How much do you really know about pressure ulcers? See how you do on the quiz below!

True or false?

  1. The skin, the largest organ, can fail like other organs.
  2. If a pressure ulcer is present on admission but not documented, it is considered a hospital-acquired condition.
  3. The Braden Scale's 6 subscales are mobility, activity, sensory perception, nutrition, moisture, and friction/shear.
  4. More than 90% of pressure ulcers are caused by medical error.
  5. Wound measurement is the only evidence-based predictor of healing.
  6. Decreased diastolic blood pressure is among the risk factors for pressure ulcer development.
