Dear Colleague,

Happy New Year! Like many of you, I’m beginning my year with a list of goals, both personal and professional, to better myself and create a positive impact on those around me. I found inspiration in the articles in More Resources, and I hope you do too. Here are some quotes:

“The question for every nurse – no matter the stage of her or his education or career – is: Are you the best leader you can be?” ---Susan B. Hassmiller PhD, RN, FAAN & Julia Truelove
“Rather than losing hope in negative situations, we can first take a realistic look at ourselves.” ---Mary Pat Szutenbach
“Changes in health care have brought attention to the need to prepare and support nurses to interpret research findings and to appropriately translate evidence into practice.” ---Bradi B. Granger PhD, RN, FAHA, FAAN, Yanfang Zhao MS, Jennifer Rogers MEd, Corinne Miller BSN, RN, Catherine L. Gilliss PhD, RN, & Mary Champagne PhD, RN
“With the opportunities that have developed as a result of the IOM Future of Nursing report and the creation of the DNP degree, nurse leaders are poised to make the changes required to create quality, cost-effective healthcare for the citizens of our nation.” ---Carolyn M. Rutledge PhD, FNP-BC & Michelle Renaud PhD, CNS
