Dear Colleague,

Like anything else in our lives, we often get caught up in our own day-to-day nursing life. Whether we are facing staffing issues or learning how to use a new device, sometimes we lose sight of the ‘big picture’ that is nursing and health care. We owe it to ourselves and our profession to be knowledgeable about global health care. What are the issues around the world? What is the role of nursing in facing these issues? How can we make a difference?

The articles in More Resources vary in their perspective and connection to global health. From a first-person account of nursing in Baghdad to tracking an emerging infectious disease to learning about a global action plan to reduce premature births, it is evident that the information related to global health is vast. Why is it important for nurses to be aware of this ‘big picture’? I encourage you to explore these articles and find out.

Unlike other internal body organs, we can visualize skin changes using our eyes, without the use of sophisticated technology and invasive procedures. Those interested in clinical dermatology information will benefit from our image library to learn from our photos and illustrations.
