New clinical data shows that propoxyphene puts patients at risk of potentially serious or even fatal heart rhythm abnormalities; drug withdrawn from U.S. market.

Study finds that majority of patients who take warfarin also take herbal and dietary supplements, and their physicians are unaware.

Total cholesterol levels have fallen since 1976, but triglyceride levels and the prevalence of obesity have increased.

Rapid increases in heart rate and changes in heart-rhythm regularity noted in bereaved survivors after the death of a spouse or child, which then normalized within 6 months.
