What does the evidence say?
JONA’s May issue is an annual themed edition that focuses on nursing administration research. As nurse leaders, we’re well aware of the future challenges we face, but are we basing our decisions on evidence? Pat S. Yoder-Wise, EdD, RN, NEA-BC, ANEF, FAAN, past chair of the Council on Graduate Education for Administration in Nursing (CGEAN), emphasizes the need to educate ourselves and to identify creative partnerships to advance leadership in practice. Review Pat’s message below within our Bonus Content section.
In addition, check out recommended strategies for implementing research-based policies and procedures. This article (also below) identifies the core factors supported by evidence to support research utilization.
And don’t forget our app! JONA’s iPad application gives you expanded capabilities, such as supplemental digital content through data files, short videos, and data collection instruments.
I always appreciate hearing from our dedicated readers. Please refer to “Guidelines for Authors” available online at www.jonajournal.com for initial guidance, in addition to individual suggestions and direction.
Happy Nurses Week!
Sincerely,
Karen S. Hill, RN, DNP, NEA-BC, FACHE
