JONA’s November print issue offers a detailed look at the role of the charge nurse. We’ll examine several aspects of this position in a special editorial series. Our first article (link below) delves into the experience of being a charge nurse and suggestions for role clarification and professional development.

Another interesting concept is how the characteristics of authentic nurse leaders and their defining moments or experiences have shaped their leadership styles. The revelations of these seasoned individuals provide insight into ways we can support each other along our leadership journeys and provide opportunities for those we’re mentoring. We address this topic below, within our Bonus Content section.

As always, thanks for your continued support of JONA.

Sincerely,

Karen S. Hill, RN, DNP, NEA-BC, FACHE
Editor-in-Chief, JONA
