Happy New Year!

In today’s environment of alignments, relationships and affiliations, it’s important for readers to understand the value of a blinded peer review process, one that JONA and other quality publications employ to ensure editorial integrity. Don’t miss my January editorial, available at www.jonajournal.com, in which I explore the relationship between collegiality, partnerships, and content integrity.

On a different note, post-discharge phone calls are a common occurrence in many practice settings. In this edition of Executive Extra (below), you’ll find an interesting article highlighting Baylor Health System’s experience with such. We’ve also included an article highlighting evidence-based practice initiatives, including the relationship of staff councils to outcomes and the use of portfolios for clinical nurse leaders entering the job market.

Don’t forget to visit JONA at www.jonajournal.com to review current and past articles of interest to you.

Sincerely,

Karen S. Hill, RN, DNP, NEA-BC, FACHE
