CDC: Baby boomers should get tested for hepatitis C

The CDC has recommended that all adults born between 1945 and 1965 should receive one-time testing for the hepatitis C virus because the baby boomer generation is a community disproportionately affected by hepatitis C.


There’s an app for that!

The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology recently announced The Million Hearts Risk Check Challenge, inviting developers to create a mobile app that will help patients reduce their risk for heart disease by learning to control their BP and cholesterol.


Telemedicine and the ICU

A recent study investigated whether remote monitoring of ICU patients will actually save hospitals money. The costs range from $50,000 to $100,000 per bed for the first year of operation.
