FDA update on flu medication and vaccine availability
The FDA anticipates intermittent, temporary shortages of the oral suspension form of Tamiflu for the remainder of the flu season. It also reports that some spot shortages of flu vaccine have been reported; consumers can locate available flu vaccine in their area using the Flu Vaccine Finder at http://www.flu.gov .
Wealthier, but not healthier
The United States is among the wealthiest nations in the world, but it’s far from the healthiest. Although life expectancy and survival rates in the United States have improved dramatically over the past century, Americans live shorter lives and experience more injuries and illnesses than people in other high-income countries.
Disabled adults more likely to use the ED
Working-age adults with disabilities account for a disproportionately high amount of annual ED visitors, according to a comparison study by National Institutes of Health researchers.
