How do we reduce wrong-site surgery risk?

The Joint Commission Center for Transforming Healthcare teamed up with eight participating healthcare organizations to identify ways to decrease wrong-site surgery risk and here’s what they found: By reinforcing quality and measurement, emphasizing a culture of safety, strengthening knowledge about wrong-site surgery, and improving consistency in surgical processes, opportunities for errors or defects can be reduced.


Adult obesity continues to "grow"

According to a new report by Trust for America's Health and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, adult obesity rates increased in 16 states, with obesity rates above 25% in 38 states.
