According to the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, central line-associated bloodstream infections in adult ICUs were reduced an average of 35% at hospitals participating in the On the CUSP: Stop BSI project.


CDC issues new guidelines for preventing intravascular catheter-related infections

The CDC has issued a 2011 update to its Guidelines for the Prevention of Intravascular Catheter-Related Infections; these guidelines were last updated in 2002.
