Study finds link between coffee and reduced depression risk in women

New research finds that women who drink caffeinated coffee are 20% less likely to experience depression than those not drinking coffee.


Nobel Prize in medicine winner dies days before the award announcement

Ralph Steinman, a biologist with Rockefeller University, died of pancreatic cancer Friday at the age of 68. He was announced as a Nobel Prize winner prior to the committee hearing the news of his death. He was utilizing his own award-winning research on the immune system's sentinel dendritic cells to extend his life.


Link found between learning disabilities and children who are exposed to anesthesia before age two

A new study has found an alarming increase in learning disabilities for children under the age of two that have been placed under forms of general anesthesia. Millions of babies and toddlers require surgery with anesthesia each year. Researchers have concluded that the results of this study and the long term impact this may have will not be fully understood for years to come.


Gel stops blood flow during blood vessel surgery
