Handheld umbrellas are effective at blocking ultraviolet radiation (UVR), according to a study published online March 20 in JAMA Dermatology.


FDA Approves Lymphoseek to Help Locate Lymph Nodes

The injected imaging drug Lymphoseek (technetium Tc 99m tilmanocept) has been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to help surgeons locate the lymph nodes among people with breast cancer or melanoma who are undergoing surgery to remove tumor-draining lymph nodes.


Aspirin Cuts Melanoma Risk in Postmenopausal Caucasians

For postmenopausal Caucasian women, aspirin use is associated with a significantly reduced risk of melanoma, according to a study published online March 11 in Cancer.
