Can Aspirin Reduce Melanoma Risk?

A new study of nearly 60,000 women ages 50 to 79 indicates that taking aspirin is associated with a lower risk of melanoma skin cancer. Because aspirin use can have serious adverse effects, it should not be taken regularly without consulting a healthcare provider.


Patient Trials Evaluate Topical Drug for Diabetic Ulcers

Phase 3 clinical trials will evaluate the efficacy of an investigational topical vehicle from DermaSciences versus a standard of care hydrogel in the treatment of chronic, nonhealing diabetic foot ulcers.

New evidence suggests that putting prebiotics in baby formula may help to protect children against the skin condition eczema; however, further research is needed.
