Wound care products reduce hospital stays

Efforts to reduce hospital stays are driving sales of new wound care products, even more expensive advanced products, according to healthcare market research publisher Kalorama Information.


Pressure ulcer prevention is focus of state program

A demonstration project aimed at reducing the high incidence of pressure ulcers among Pennsylvania nursing home residents and hospital patients has been funded by a $658,000 state grant awarded to the Pennsylvania Restraint Reduction Initiative.


NPUAP calls for poster abstracts

The National Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel seeks abstract submissions for poster presentations at its 12th National Biennial Conference scheduled for February 25-26, 2011, at Caesar’s Palace, Las Vegas, Nevada.

The American Professional Wound Care Association (APWCA) will celebrate its 10th Anniversary, APWCA2011 National Clinical Conference, March 31 to April 3, 2011, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.


Physician-specific wound care certification exams

The Council for Medical Education and Testing is the only physician-specific wound care certifying organization in the United States. The next exam will be held 10 AM to 3 PM, September 25, 2010 at the Embassy Suites San Francisco Airport-Gateway Boulevard, San Francisco, California.
