New dressing launched for negative pressure wound therapy

The new V.A.C. GranuFoam Bridge XG dressing is designed to enable more complete coverage of large wounds requiring bridging, including difficult to access pressure ulcers.


APWCA call for abstracts

Applications for the submission of poster and oral abstracts for presentation at APWCA2011 (March 31- April 3, 2011) are being accepted until February 26, 2011. Guidelines for presentation have been revised for this year and all abstract applications must be submitted using the online form.


Advanced biosynthetic wound care product released

Advanced Wound Bioengineered Alternative Tissue or AWBAT Plus is a new temporary skin substitute that is currently indicated for partial-thickness burns, meshed autografts, and donor sites.


Wound management gel available over-the counter

Prontosan Wound Management Gel with PHMB (Polyhexanide), a product used in the healthcare setting for cleaning wounds, as well as moistening and lubricating absorbent wound dressings, is now available for over-the-counter use.


APWCA2011 National Clinical Conference celebrates 10th anniversary

APWCA2011 will be held March 31-April 3, 2011, at the Sheraton Philadelphia Center City Hotel in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Continuing medical education credits are available, in addition to new topics, more than 40 faculty members, and new product displays.

The Council for Medical Education and Testing is the only physician-specific wound care certifying organization in the United States. The next examination date is: February 26, 2011, 11 AM to 4 PM, at the Sheraton Gateway Hotel at LAX-Los Angeles Airport Hotel, Los Angeles, California.
