New Wound Dressing and Education Program Unveiled

Allevyn Gentle Border Sacrum is a new dressing designed specifically for managing wounds located in the sacral area. Classroom to Bedside, a new professional education program focused on skin and wound care, has also been launched by Smith & Nephew.


Transcontinental Wound Registry to Launch

The Academy of Wound Technology and Kinetic Concepts, Inc have announced the launch of a Transcontinental Wound Registry to be presented at the 2012 Congress of World Union of Wound Healing Societies in Yokohama, Japan.


APWCA Review Course Scheduled

The Essentials—A Comprehensive Review Course on Wound Care Management and Intervention will be held 7:30 AM - 6:30 PM, Saturday, July 30, and 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM, Sunday, July 31, 2011, at the Chicago Marriott O'Hare in Chicago, Illinois.


Fragrance-free Barrier Cream Introduced

A fragrance-free version and a new single-dose size for 3M’s Cavilon Durable Barrier Cream are now available. The cream is used primarily for incontinence care applications to provide protection from bodily fluids, while allowing tapes and dressings to adhere to the skin.


Physician-specific Wound Care Certification Exams

The Council for Medical Education and Testing is the only physician-specific wound care certifying organization in the United States. The next examination dates are: August 1, 2011, at the Chicago O’Hare Marriott in Chicago, Illinois; and on August 20, 2011, at the Birmingham Marriott Hotel in Birmingham, Alabama, in conjunction with Advances in the Science of Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine.


Wound Care Course Designed for Sales Reps

The “Professional Wound Care Representative Course” is for sales representatives in the field of wound management and will be offered at the Clinical Symposium on Advances in Skin & Wound Care on September 9, 2011 from 8:30 am-12:00 noon. Register now while a discount is available.
