Antimicrobial Hydrogel for Wounds Introduced

Normlgel Ag is an antimicrobial hydrogel designed to assist with the debridement and desloughing process in dry necrotic wounds, while maintaining a moist wound environment for optimal wound healing. The product is indicated for partial- and full-thickness acute and chronic wounds.


MRSA Is Prevalent in Nursing Homes

In a study of 22 facilities, 20 tested positive for a drug-resistant and potentially deadly skin infection. Researchers say more focus is needed on drug-resistant infections, such as community-associated strains of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus.


Older Men Should Screen for Skin Cancer

New studies show that men aged 50 years or older are more likely to be diagnosed with invasive melanoma by a dermatologist than to detect it themselves. They also are less likely to seek a skin cancer screening due to a suspicious lesion.
