SPECIALIZATION
As one of the nation's largest Catholic hospitals and the second largest hospital in metropolitan St. Louis, St. John's Mercy Medical Center operates the only Level I Trauma Center and Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in St. Louis County. The Medical Cente has 979 beds and serves as the community hospital for patients with a variety of conditions and health needs. In 2006, we opened the only full-service Heart Hospital in the region and now our Emergency Department is part of this state-of-the-art facility. As a teaching and research hospital, St. John's Mercy utilizes innovative technology and draws health care professionals from across the nation, practicing in nearly every clinical specialty.
