Abstract

The Online Coaching Program was implemented as a pilot project in January 2006 by the Greater Cincinnati Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association. This program uses a secured Web site to provide individualized support and information to those caring for individuals with dementia and was developed with the knowledge that as the baby boomers age, the Internet will become an important venue for providing services to caregivers. This article describes the program, presents data from outcome surveys, and explores the growing need for integrating online coaching as a method for offering support and information to caregivers of people with Alzheimer's disease.
