Because of an editing error in "Metered Dose Inhalers" by Debra Togger and Phyllis Brenner (October), the first sentence in the fourth paragraph incorrectly states, "One of the main goals of pharmacologic therapy is 'airway remodeling,' controlling the inflammatory process associated with asthma and preventing scarring of the lungs." It should have read, "One of the main goals of pharmacologic therapy is to control the inflammatory process associated with asthma and prevent scarring of the lungs (also known as 'airway remodeling')."

 

The cover of our November 2001 issue featured a photograph of the Vietnam Women's Memorial, a bronze sculpture by Glenna Goodacre. In our description of the work on the Contents page, we wrote that "the memorial depicts three nurses, one of whom comforts an injured soldier." In fact, the three figures are not necessarily representations of nurses but rather all women who served in the conflict (although, according to the artist, a nurse was used as the model for one of the faces).
