Abstract

According to this study:

* In patients with postoperative atrial fibrillation, both heart rate control and rhythm control are effective in reducing length of hospital stay and rates of serious complications.

* The total number of days in the hospital within 60 days of randomization did not differ significantly between the rate- and rhythm-control groups.

* The rates of death and serious adverse events were also similar in the two groups.
