The American Journal of Nursing has received three prestigious national awards in recent months:

The American Society of Healthcare Publication Editors awarded AJN its 2003 Best Feature Series Award for the palliative nursing series, a bimonthly series funded in part by a grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

The Association for Women in Communications selected AJN as the Best Overall External Magazine (category for magazines with circulation between 100,000 and 500,000) and gave AJN the award for Best Regular Editorials for magazines of the same size. This competition is not limited to health care publications.
