[black small square] I'd like to add some pediatric considerations to your recent patient-education guide on medication safety ("How to Use Your Medicine Safely," December 2003). Warn parents of an infant not to give the baby any over-the-counter products without checking with their health care provider first. Also let parents know that if one child is taking an antibiotic and another child gets sick, it's not okay to share the antibiotic with the second child. Tell them to contact their health care provider for advice.
