Jonathon A. Brown, RN, CNAA, CHE, MBA, MSN, Nanuet, N.Y., was recently inducted into the Delta Epsilon Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International at Murray State University in Murray, Ky., in recognition of his leadership achievement and commitment to nursing excellence.

 

Robert B. Dybec, RN, CPSN, CNOR, MS, nurse manager, Winthrop-University Hospital, Mineola, N.Y., has received the 2005 award for "Outstanding Achievement in Perioperative Clinical Nursing Education" from the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN).

 

Karlene M. Kerfoot, RN, PhD, senior vice president of nursing and patient care services, chief nurse executive, Clarian Health Partners, Indianapolis, Ind., was elected to the board of directors for the American Academy of Nursing.

 

Officials at Brookwood Medical Center, Birmingham, Ala., announced the promotion of Jacquelyn Y. Martinek, RN, BSN, MHSA, to the position of chief nursing officer.

 

Shelley Ray, Troy, Mich., a nursing student at Oakland University and the director and membership chair for the National Student Nurses' Association, won Kelly Healthcare Resources' $5,000 scholarship.

Kelly C. Thomas II, RN, South Miami Hospital, Miami, Fla., received the 2005 Misys Nursing Informatics Scholarship.

 

At Children's Medical Center Dallas, Tex., Sharon L. Tourville, RN, MS, was named senior vice president.

 

Neva White, RN, CRNP, MSN, regional director of community health for Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia, Pa., received Philly's Phenomenal Phemale Award from the Rho Theta Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.
