Humor is an essential coping mechanism and a useful tool in everyday life. It has been known to build relationships, enhance problem solving, improve negotiation, and promote physical and emotional healing. An atmosphere that promotes professionalism in the workplace while using laughter is known to motivate and improve morale in staff. This may also reflect on the work environment and decrease stress in patients. This session will look at the funny side of the practice of gastroenterology nursing practice and how to incorporate humor into our daily routines.

We are pleased to present the Abstracts from the SGNA's 32nd Annual Course: Passion for GI Nursing: Pass It On!! The diversity of these topics certainly reflects the richness and breadth of our specialty. In keeping with the tradition of the Annual Course, we hope the following abstracts will encourage discussions for improving nursing practice and patient care outcomes.
