eHealth nursing has the potential to change the course of patient care. eHealth, eMonitoring, eCare, whichever term is used, is changing how patient care is delivered. Better patient outcomes, improved patient and provider satisfaction, and time savings are just a few of the benefits. This session will explore ways eHealth can be used in gastroenterology practice. Emerging trends such as patient or provider use of e-mail, video streaming patient teaching sessions, bulletin board, and chat room discussions as well as patient or nurse monitoring of chronic gastroenterology conditions via the Internet will be demonstrated. Participants will gain insight into how eHealth and eMonitoring can enhance practice and learn what will be possible with the intriguing new technologies on the horizon.
