"A Nurse with Dystonia Chooses DBS" (September) lifted my spirits. I have been an RN for 35 years, and I was diagnosed with generalized dystonia three years ago, after being misdiagnosed several times since 1997. Sometimes I feel very alone with this disorder. Family, friends, and coworkers don't understand why I don't retire, but I refuse to let this thing control my life.
