As a student about to begin my own nursing practice, I appreciate Karen Roush's "Waiting for Kimberly" (Reflections, April). Many of us choose nursing because we want to interact with patients and learn the delicate balance of being involved but not overly so. I've thought about my own identity as a nurse and my boundaries with patients. Roush reminds me that it's possible for personal and professional lives to overlap in ways that benefit both patient and nurse.
