A scale for all sizes

Tanita Corp. introduces the PH-740 digital handrail scale, designed to allow greater accessibility for patients and increased portability and accuracy for healthcare professionals in the geriatric and bariatric fields. The scale's extra-wide 30-inch by 25-inch low-profile platform makes it suitable for patients who have trouble stepping up and onto traditional physician scales. Featuring automatic body mass index calculation, a mechanical height rod, outputs that accommodate most electronic medical record applications, handrails, and a 1,000-pound (454.5-kg) weight capacity, the unit can easily be broken down into three modules-display, platform, and pillar-with casters for easy mobility.

Folders that promote privacy

RNR Plastics, Inc., introduces a new line of vinyl medical record folders, featuring a clear window that shows only the date code to help ensure the privacy of patient records. Measuring 91/2 inches by 12 inches, the folders are offered in top-or side-open versions, with a 2-inch by 3-inch clear window in the corner. Designed to outlast paper folders while holding many standard-sized documents and easily sliding in and out of file systems, they're impervious to water, available in colors, and can be custom printed with specific organization information. And because they're made from environmentally friendly materials, they're also recyclable.
