Where has nursing evolved? Once it was considered a profession full of compassion and tenderness for all who suffered.

Now nursing has taken us to the desk for documentation. Too often, compassion and tenderness are now in the hands of unlicensed assistive personnel.

I encourage all nurses to see the patient as a person in their care. Bring some compassion back to the bedside. A kind word is precious.

Patients don't remember nurses who stay at the desk or computer, they remember the ones who spend time with them.
