The planning for the second phase of the partnership between the Joanna Briggs Institute and Wolters Kluwer Health is now in full swing!! This next exciting step will involve JBI content (currently available via JBI COnNECT+) becoming available via the OvidSP platform as of October 4, 2012. This means that JBI members will be able to access content via both platforms. However, the content will continue to be updated on a regular basis by the JBI Scientific team and will continue to be the high-quality, reliable, international, independent resource that you are used to.
As the year progresses we will bring you more detailed information regarding the transfer to Ovid and what this will mean for current JBI members and others who wish to access JBI resources via Ovid. We trust that it will be a seamless transition that will result in a more comprehensive service that enables even more health professionals across the world to access the best available evidence to aid decision making at the point of care.
In the meantime, we continue to work proudly with the team at Lippincott Williams & Wilkins to bring you a range of evidence-based tools and resources, and we are excited to announce that a second installment in the JBI-LWW book series will be released later this year!! The first set of books received such positive feedback that we are delighted to add more to this unique collection. If you haven't already had an opportunity to look at the first set, it is available for sale online at:
We will also be in attendance at the Canadian Health Libraries Association (CHLA) conference, Cascade of Knowledge, June 11-15, 2012, Hamilton, ON, and the Medical Library Association (MLA) conference, Growing opportunities: Changing our game, May 18-23, 2012, Seattle, USA. Anne Dabrow Woods, Chief Nurse of Wolters Kluwer Health/Lippincott Williams & Wilkins and Susan M. Weeks, Director of the JBI Collaborating Center in Texas, will be speaking at an Ovid breakfast session at MLA on Sunday, May 20, 2012. The session is titled "A Librarian's Guide to Implementing Evidence." On Wednesday, June 13, at the CHLA conference, Anne Dabrow Woods and Margaret Harrison from the Canadian Collaborating Center will be speaking on the same topic. This will be a great opportunity to connect with librarians and speak with them about their role in achieving evidence-based healthcare, so we hope to see you there!!
