Abstract

Respiratory failure and loss of airway patency are major risks of a wide variety of illnesses and injuries. Lethal hypoxia can develop rapidly. So to be effective, your assessments must be keen and your actions immediate in these situations.

Here we'll discuss emergency airway assessment, intervention, and management. We'll also describe the equipment you'll need to treat airway deterioration and the appropriate ways to use it.
