Glen D. Lapp, BSN, RN, 40, of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, was one of 10 medical aid workers killed by gunmen in Afghanistan on Thursday, August 5. Lapp had been in Afghanistan since 2008 as part of the International Assistance Mission, an international nonprofit organization serving in that region. Lapp received his bachelor of science in nursing in 1995 from the Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing. "The Hopkins community shares in the grief over Glen's death," said Dean Martha N. Hill, PhD, RN, FAAN. "He was a dedicated nurse-both here and abroad."
