Abstract

Last year's series titled Emergency Preparedness in the OR addressed malignant hyperthermia, unstable bradycardia and tachycardia, acute coronary syndrome, and cardiac arrest. For 2012, the focus of this year's series on Emergency Preparedness will be specific case studies that continue to expand on the topics previously discussed. In this article, the reader will be exposed to a rhythm disturbance and will be asked a series of questions related to patient assessment and appropriate interventions.
