The National Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel has a new position statement titled "Pressure Ulcers with Exposed Cartilage Are Stage IV Pressure Ulcers." In this position statement, staging for ulcers absent of soft tissue, such as skin over cartilage, is examined.
