Abstract
* The anticoagulant rivaroxaban (Xarelto) has received two new labeled indications. It can now be used in the treatment of deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism as well as for prophylaxis against the recurrence of both.
* Like all anticoagulants, rivaroxaban can cause bleeding.
* Rivaroxaban may also cause the loss of a pregnancy, pregnancy-related hemorrhage, or emergent delivery.
