New guidelines on contraceptive use.The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention published U.S. Selected Practice Recommendations for Contraceptive Use, 2013 in the June 21 issue of MMWR: Recommendations and Reports. The recommendations are based in part on the global family planning guidance developed by the World Health Organization, with modifications specific to U.S. men and women. The document, which addresses the use of permanent and temporary means of contraception, will undergo survey evaluations by practitioners before it's finalized.
