Abstract
Several scientific processes are incorporated to validate the use of OBQI and OASIS. Yet, there has been little discussion of the scientific decisions that underlie these processes. This article discusses several scientific dimensions that are subsumed within the OBQI process: inter-rater reliability, validity, the timing of data collection selection of patients, and risk adjustment.
