The Nurse Reinvestment Act (NRA), signed into law August 1, contains many innovative programs to improve the nursing profession. In addition to addressing the burgeoning nursing shortage, this new law will provide nurses with increased career options and improve the governance of health care facilities in which they work. Last months Washington Watch provided an overview of the laws provisions. This months column discusses how these provisions can benefit your education and work environment.
If you are a practicing RN at an eligible health care facility, you may be able to be reimbursed up to 85% for any unpaid student loans under the Nurse Education Loan Repayment Program.
