Abstract

According to this study:

* Contamination of the skin and clothing of health care personnel occurred frequently during removal of personal protective equipment (PPE).

* Many health care personnel doffed PPE incorrectly.

* A hospital-wide intervention that included education on proper use, practicing, and immediate visual feedback significantly reduced (but did not eliminate) the risk of contamination during the removal of PPE.
