Acelity (San Antonio, Texas) has acquired the SNaP Therapy System, a disposable negative-pressure wound therapy line of products from Spiracur, a privately held medical device company based in Sunnyvale, California. The SNaP Therapy System is designed to treat a range of complex and hard-to-heal wounds with portable, nonpowered negative-pressure technology, primarily in the post-acute care setting.

SNaP technology offers simple, off-the-shelf, easy-to-use products and may improve the patient experience because of its size, weight, and ability to be discreet, according to the manufacturer.
