Abstract

Teaching nursing students to correctly write and format work based on the American Psychological Association (APA) standards requires intentionality, persistence, and practice. Traditionally, students are expected to teach themselves the editorial skills required for scholarly work, using available resources or purchasing software that guides this process. Educators who assign written work often assume that students will educate themselves through available books and websites. Yet, very often, students do not do these things.
