Penny Simpson Brooke is a professor at the University of Utah College of Nursing in Salt Lake City. She's also on the board of directors and president of the foundation of The American Association of Nurse Attorneys. Meet Ms. Brooke, who's speaking at the Nursing2004 Symposium in Las Vegas, Nev., April 13 to 16, 2004.

Last spring I cared for a patient who had liver cancer. She took a very active approach to her care by asking questions and having her family research prescribed treatments and medications.
