Abstract

Many asymptomatic patients who present for routine examinations are found to have elevation of liver functions. There are many etiologies for elevations of liver functions; however, a growing number of individuals are found to have nonalcoholic steatohepatitis. With this condition, fat builds up in the liver and eventually scar tissue does as well. This article will explore this etiology, work up, and thoughts regarding prognosis.
