WHILE TRAVELING to your next few assignments, why not plan scenic routes (or detours) to enjoy along the way? Consider recharging at one of our national parks, where you can enjoy spectacular scenery and recreational facilities. Many parks are known for their historic, prehistoric, or scientific interest. Covering more than 83 million acres, the park system is a treasure not to be missed. For more information on any park listed below or on those in Alaska and Hawaii, visit the National Park Service's Web site at http://www.nps.gov. Check out the details about the National Parks Pass (for $50 a year, dating from your first use, the pass provides admission to any national park that charges an entrance fee). Don't miss the See America's National Parks Web site (http://nps.seeamerica.org/index.jsp). There, you can search for National Parks by states, name of park, activities, or proximity to where you are at the moment.
